The Department of Education (DepEd) on Tuesday (May 5), is currently earning vast comments from many parents as it has decided to open the school year 2020-2021 on August 24 amid coronavirus pandemic.

"Ang napili po nating school opening date ay August 24 pero hindi ibig sabihin lahat pisikal na papasok kasi may lockdown tayo. Pwede tayong virtual; physical sa pwede," said Education Secretary Leonor Briones in a Laging Handa Briefing.
With this, many parents view the decision of the department as inconsiderate for not being mindful of the safety of the students and to those who cannot afford online classes.

"Bakit niyo minamadali ang school opening. Are you sure Madam Secretary na safe ang mga bata at teacher sa time na 'yan? Hindi po lahat ay may stable internet at computer o gadget sa bahay, please reconsider the situation baka sa pagmamadali mas maraming mapahamak," a facebook user commented.

If the school year will push through on August, parents are also thinking of not enrolling their children to ensure their safety.
"Sad to say, education is important but for me, life and safety of my children is more important," another facebook user said.
"My kids will skip their studies this year, their life and safety is important," one parent added.

I agree to not open the school year bwcaause life is.more important....if we miss studies this year this can be replaced but if you lost the life of your love ones this cannot be replaced....so no to opening of classes this year.

ReplyDeleteI agree this year no Classes. Its better we thinking our Childrens. Anytime,anyyear can go to school our children right. As a Mom of my Daughters studying in College Level . I decided that this year they are stop to go school even they announce on August starting schooling

I agree, ang pag aaral anytime pwde yan kaso pag magkaskit ang ang mo d mo mssbi kung anung mangyyare at anu ang kinahhntungan nia. Kung ikw nga po takot sa covid tpos mga bata hahayaan mo lng maexpose sa covid. Marami ang nawalan ng trbho ngyon kc nalulugi ang mga companya ipplit nio ung classe wlang pera ang mga tao ngyon isabay mo pa ang skuwela maawa nmn kau sa mga bata at magulang nito.

ReplyDeleteI, for the safety of my children will definitely skip enrollment of my children until a vaccine against Covid19 is available. The safety of my children paramount over attending one school year without assurance against Covid19. The DepEd should reconsider their desire in opening
ReplyDeletethe classes on August, instead they should revert back to the DBM some of its Budget for this school year so that the President could use these funds to augment the present budget to combat Covid19 leaving only the budgetary items for personal services of DepEd employees even the 14th month pay should be reverted since there will be no classes and teachers are not regularly reporting to school to teach.
I agree na hindi muna bumalik sa school ang mga anak namin. Dipo namin isusugal ang mga health po nila.
